Skitmaker and human rights activist, Debo Adebayo, popularly
known as Mr Macaroni, has stirred massive reactions online as he marked the
anniversary of the October 20, 2020 #EndSARS protest, declaring that Nigerian
youths must never forget the lives lost during the Lekki Tollgate incident.
In a post shared on his social media pages on Monday,
October 20, 2025, Mr Macaroni reflected on the tragic night when security
forces allegedly opened fire on peaceful protesters calling for an end to
police brutality.
He expressed disappointment that many Nigerians, especially
the youths, have now aligned themselves with the same leaders who suppressed
their voices five years ago.
“Nigerian youths lost their lives, jobs, families and dreams
at the hands of the most corrupt and evil people we call leaders!!! Even though
my people are now in love with their oppressors, this day 20/10/2020 is never
to be forgotten nor forgiven!” he wrote.
Mr Macaroni, who was also arrested during the #EndSARS
demonstrations, shared a message insisting that the struggle for justice
continues and that those responsible for the violence must one day be held
accountable.
On October 20, 2020, Nigerian youths gathered at the Lekki
Tollgate in Lagos to demand an end to police brutality and human rights abuses.
Eyewitnesses reported that armed security personnel arrived
at the scene and began shooting at protesters.
