The senator representing Kogi central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has invited Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other lawmakers to attend a project commissioning event in her state.
The invitation, contained in a letter read by Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary, announced that the event will take place on Sunday, November 2, in Ihima, Kogi State.
“In marking my second-year anniversary as a serving senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite fellow distinguished senators to join me for project commissioning in Kogi state,” the letter reads in part.

Akpoti-Uduaghan informed lawmakers that the meeting point for the event would be her residence at Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, while senators arriving by air could land at the Obajana airstrip and continue the journey to Ihima by road.
After reading the letter, Akpabio congratulated the senator on the milestone.
Akpoti-Uduaghan’s invitation comes months after a period of tension between her and the Senate leadership.
On February 20, she had a heated exchange with Akpabio over seating arrangements in the chamber.
The disagreement escalated when she later accused the Senate President of sexual harassment — an allegation he denied.
Following the incident, the Senate suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan on March 6 for six months after adopting the report of its Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions.
Since her reinstatement on September 24, the senator has gradually resumed active participation in legislative business.
