Super Eagles winger Moses Simon scored the solitary goal for Paris FC, as they claimed a 1-0 victory over Monaco at the Stade Louis II, Soccernet.ng reports.

Simon has been a regular for Paris FC, and he kept his place in their starting lineup for their visit to Monaco on Saturday.

The home side were the favourites going into the game, as Paris FC only gained promotion to the Ligue 1 this season.

However, the visitors gave a good account of themselves. They matched everything that Monaco brought to the table and limited them to just one big chance in the first half.

They maintained the same tempo in the second half, despite some early pressure from Monaco. The newly-promoted Ligue 1 club eventually got broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, and it was through Simon.

The Super Eagles winger got on the end of a cut back from Maxime Lopez in the center of the box and sent the ball into the middle of Monaco net, to make it 1-0.

After Simon scored, Samir Chergui and Ilan Kebbal got close to doubling Paris FC’s lead, but they fluffed their lines.

Despite being a goal down, Monaco failed to create any meaningful chance, as Paris FC ran out with the 1-0 victory.

Simon’s goal was just his third for Paris FC in 11 Ligue 1 appearance this season. The win takes his team to 10th on the table, with 14 points after 11 games.

Moses Simon’s goal for Paris FC will be a big confidence booster for him ahead of the World Cup playoffs in two weeks time.

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will need his best players to be firing on all cylinders ahead of the games, and Simon looks good at the moment.

He will be looking to help his side with another goal involvement when they welcome Rennes next week.
