AC Milan have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign forward Christopher Nkunku in a deal worth £36m.
The 27-year-old France international is set to join the Rossoneri on a five-year contract after accepting a pay cut and has been granted permission to undergo a medical.
Chelsea have also inserted a sell-on clause as part of the transfer, which ends Nkunku’s two-year spell at Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku joined the Blues from RB Leipzig for £52m in 2023, scoring 18 goals and providing five assists in 62 appearances. He helped Chelsea to win the Club World Cup and UEFA Conference League during his time in London.
The move also paves the way for Chelsea to step up negotiations with Manchester United over Alejandro Garnacho.
At the same time, striker Nicolas Jackson is in talks with Bayern Munich over a loan move that could include an obligation to buy.
Chelsea have now raised an estimated £309m in player sales this summer, balancing their transfer books to meet UEFA’s financial requirements.
