Manchester United have completed an agreement to sign Colombian midfield prospect Cristian Orozco from Fortaleza CEIF, with the teenager set to officially move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2026.
The deal, revealed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, has been signed and approved by the club’s legal team.
Romano confirmed that United’s lead scout, Gerardo Guzmán Antonaccio, was instrumental in bringing the negotiations over the line.
He wrote on X, “Manchester United have now sealed and signed a deal to bring in 17-year-old Colombian talent Cristian Orozco.”
Orozco, who currently captains Colombia’s Under-17 national team, has been widely praised for his composure, leadership, and intensity in the middle of the park.
The defensive midfielder stood out during the Under-17 South American Championships last year, guiding his side to the final and earning recognition as one of the tournament’s most consistent performers.
At the club level, the youngster has already gained valuable experience with Fortaleza CEIF in Colombia’s domestic league, showcasing the maturity and tactical discipline that have caught the attention of United’s scouts.
The Red Devils have made youth recruitment a clear priority in recent windows, with Orozco’s signing adding to a growing pool of rising stars that includes Sekou Kone and Chido Obi-Martin.
United fans will have to wait until 2026 to see Orozco in action at Old Trafford, but excitement is already building around a player tipped as one of South America’s brightest young midfielders.
