A 27-year-old native of Egbeagu village, Amansea in Awka North Local Government Area (LGA), Mr Nonso Onwuechezona, has sought financial assistance from the public for treatment of kidney failure he was diagnosed of on 2nd April, 2023.
Onwuechezona, already bedridden, in a statement signed by his mother, Mrs Deborah Nwozor, explained that the treatment would cost ₦31 million.
“Currently, he is undergoing dialysis twice every week at an initial cost of ₦37,000 now ₦47,000 per session at Time-to-Fort Specialist Hospital, Awka. While we try to raise funds for the transplant, this situation has kept us in big financial debt, despite sales of family properties the little we have to raise funds, it all went into treatment, medications, and dialysis.
“Having been to several hospitals in search of solutions, the doctors concluded that a kidney transplant is the only solution to his condition which was to cost ₦21,632,800 as can be seen in the attached document now costing ₦31,000,000.
