The Lagos State Police Command’s Gender Unit has apprehended a 60-year-old man, Ajayi Femi, on allegations of raping a 24-year-old lady.
The command revealed this in a statement made available to PUNCH Metro on Monday.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, investigations showed that the suspect allegedly laced the victim’s drink, causing her to lose consciousness, before forcefully engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with her.

The case was said to have happened on August 22, 2025. The survivor’s sister first lodged the complaint at the Meiran Police Station, after which it was referred to the Gender Unit of the command for detailed investigation.
“Medical examinations conducted by the Gender Unit corroborated the survivor’s account, while the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation,” the statement read.
The command disclosed that during questioning, the suspect admitted to the offence and has been remanded in prison custody pending the next court hearing.
It added, “The command remains committed to ensuring justice for survivors of sexual offences.”
