Man City Outclass Man United To End Losing Run


A brace from Erling Haaland and a strike from Phil Foden earned Manchester City a comfortable 3-0 win against Manchester United at the Etihad in Sunday’s Premier League tie.

Man City had to get their campaign back on track after losing their last two league matches.

The win took Man City to eight place on six points while United are 14 on four points in the league table.

Up next for Man City in the league is a trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal and United will take on Chelsea next weekend.

Haaland with the first big chance just 19 seconds into the gane but saw his strike narrowly miss the target.

In the 4th minute Benjamin Sesko made a smart turn on the edge of the box but his left-foot strike was well saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Foden opened the scoring on 18 minutes as he nodded home Jeremie Doku’s cross.

Tijani Reijnders almost doubled City’s lead only to see his point blank strike inside the box stopped by United’s keeper.

Bruno Fernandes went close for United on 35 minutes but his set-piece was well saved by Donnarumma.

United started on the front foot early in the second half but it was City that went 2-0 up on 53 minutes through Haaland.

The Norwegian ran on to a pass from Doku and dinked the ball over the keeper.

Few minutes later almost made it 3-0 after rounding the keeper but saw his attempt hit the post.

Bryan Mbeumo almost drew United leveled on 61 minutes with a brilliant volley but Donnarumma produced a superb finger tip save.

In the 64th minute Haaland connected with a cross from Bernardo Silva but his strike was well saved.

Haaland then got his second goal and City’s third on 68 minutes as he ran on to Silva’s pass ran towards his and slotted pass the keeper.

Reijnders had the chance to make it 4-0 with 15 minutes left as he ran on to a brilliant pass from Haaland but saw his clever attempt go just wide.

Mbeumo went close on 82 minutes with a volley outside the box but his effort went just wide.

Just few minutes later Mbeumo had a golden opportunity but couldn’t direct Amad Diallo’s low cross towards goal.
