According to security sources, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when Samson, whose mother was on admission, suddenly became enraged, accusing medical staff of neglecting her treatment. 

Armed with an iron object, he began smashing windows, doors, and medical equipment while chasing terrified doctors and nurses on night duty.In the ensuing panic, Dr. Ahmed Haruna sustained a fractured left leg after jumping from a fence while fleeing the attacker.

Hospital management has strongly condemned the assault, describing it as “reckless, unacceptable, and life-threatening.” 

The suspect was eventually subdued by security personnel attached to the facility and handed over to the police.The Borno State Police Command has confirmed Samson’s arrest and says he is currently in custody as investigations continue. 

The hospital has assured the public that the affected ward remains operational despite the damage.
