Lookman’s comments cast doubts over Atalanta future

Ademola Lookman delivered a cautious and ambiguous response when asked if he was happy at Atalanta, following his team’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan on Tuesday night.

The Nigerian international scored his first goal since a failed summer move to Inter Milan, but his demeanor and post-match comments hinted that tensions between him and the club may still linger.

“I’ll get there eventually” – Lookman focuses on form, not feelings

Speaking after the match, Lookman admitted he is yet to reach his best form this season but emphasized his commitment to contributing on the pitch.

“It’s important to be available for the team, to help the team,” Lookman told DAZN Italia. “I’ve not been able to find my form yet, physically or in front of goal, but I’ll get there eventually. This was a step in the right direction. Hopefully, we’ll start getting wins soon.”

Pressed further on whether he feels happy to remain at Atalanta after the failed transfer, the forward sidestepped the question.

“When I’m on the pitch, what matters most is helping the team win. We want to keep climbing the table, that’s the most important thing,” he replied.

His muted goal celebration and body language also did little to dispel speculation about an uneasy relationship with the club’s management.
