Super Eagles Captain William Troost-Ekong and forward Ademola Lookman have been named in the starting line-up for today’s crucial encounter against Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their ongoing World Cup qualification campaign.
The match carries high stakes as both teams look to strengthen their bid for a place in the FIFA 2026 competition.
Troost-Ekong, returning to central defence after a spell on the sidelines, is set to add experience and leadership at the back, while Lookman, coming off an outstanding club season, is expected to inject pace and attacking flair from the wings.

Troost-Ekong started the clash against Rwanda from the bench in the match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, for the 2026 World Cup.
In the starting line-up against the Bafana Bafana, which encounter commences at 5pm Nigerian time, Stanley Nwabali will be in goal, with Ola Aina, Wilfred Ndidi, Benjamin Fredericks and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru making the cut.
