Liverpool’s Arne Slot, Van Dijk Urge Fans To Stay Supportive After Fourth Straight League Defeat

Liverpool coach Arne Slot and captain Virgil van Dijk have called for calm and unity among supporters after the club suffered its fourth straight Premier League defeat.

The Reds were beaten 3-2 by Brentford on Saturday, a result that deepened their recent struggles and left fans frustrated. The defending champions have now gone four league matches without a win, a rare slump for a team that lifted the title only months ago.

Speaking after the defeat, Slot admitted that opponents have found effective ways to frustrate Liverpool’s style of play.

“The teams have a certain playing style against us, which is a very good strategy to play against us. We have not found an answer yet,” the Dutch manager told Fabrizio Romano. “Also, it’s not an excuse, but playing so many games away didn’t help.”

Van Dijk, visibly disappointed but determined, urged his teammates and fans to stay focused and united.

“Everyone has to look in the mirror, including myself,” the skipper said. “I am sure we will get out of this. But we won’t do it just by talking about it. We will try to improve. The fans who were celebrating with us last season should stand by us now.”

Liverpool’s latest loss has sparked concerns about fatigue and defensive lapses, which have haunted the squad in recent weeks. Their current form has dropped them to the 6th spot on the league table with 16 points in 9 games.

The Reds have a quick chance to respond when they face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Wednesday in the EFL Cup fourth-round clash. Victory there could provide the lift they badly need before returning to league action.
