Liverpool Will Struggle Without Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes the Reds will struggle defensively after the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid.

The Reds spent big this summer to bring in Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, who have given mixed performances so far under manager Arne Slot, who is still working out the best way to use the pair, who are still adapting to the Premier League.

However, the Reds conceded two goals in the team’s 4-2 win over Bournemouth in Friday’s Premier League game at Anfield.

Speaking with the club’s website, Carragher stated that the duo of Frimpong and Kerkez are not on the same level as the England international.

“Kerkez struggled (in) both games so far. Frimpong, for all his power going forward, his pace, he’s not a right-back.

“I think this is something they have to address because without Trent (Alexander-Arnold) in the team, I think the dynamics in the team will change.”
