Lion Phina Origho Joins the Campaign Race for Lions Club International 2nd Vice District Governorship Battle

Another year begins in the Lion’s calendar as the campaign for the position of 2nd Vice District Governor kicks off. Lion Phina Origho of the 404B2 Lions Club International is a candidate in this race. A woman of substance and dignity, Lion Origho is prepared to serve and showcase her commitment to humanitarian services.

In a conversation about her intentions for the position, Lion Origho expressed her mission to inspire, empower, and guide others toward a shared vision of success. She focuses on transforming challenges into opportunities and potential into achievements. “I have a mission for the club to take us beyond our current standing,” she stated. This mission, which she calls “BEHOLD,” encompasses the following:

B: Branding – This defines our identity, enhances our visibility, and strengthens our impact on both a global and local scale.

E: Expansion and Excellence – This refers to enlarging our membership base.

H: Helping Hands and Humanitarianism – For us in the Lions Club, being a ‘helping hand’ symbolises our commitment to serving communities through acts of kindness, generosity, and selflessness. It involves providing support and offering our resources, time, and skills to uplift those in need, inspiring our members and partners to prioritise service above self-interest to improve the lives of others and create a lasting impact. Humanitarianism lies at the heart of my vision stated Lion Origho. A steadfast commitment to alleviating suffering, fostering social change, and creating sustainable solutions that uplift the most vulnerable in society. My leadership is rooted in the belief that true service transcends charity, focusing instead on empowering communities, restoring dignity, and building a future where compassion drives action.

O: Openness – As the 2nd Vice District Governor, I will foster transparency in our operations and decision-making, ensuring all members feel informed and engaged.

L: Leadership Development – This is a cornerstone of the Lions Club’s success, empowering members to grow personally and professionally while strengthening the organization as a whole. If we do not prioritise leadership development in our district, we do not value growth.

D: Diligence and Dedication – This emphasises maintaining a strong work ethic and a passion for service while embodying the core values of the Lions Club. I make a bold promise that the diligence and dedication we seek will begin with me, as there is no better example than one that starts from the top.

The campaign officially started on Saturday, February 8, 2025, during the recently concluded district convention between Districts 404B2 and 404B3 at the 3rd District Governor’s cabinet meeting held at Double Grace Hall, Graceland Babanla Street, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State.
