Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi scored his first goal of the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season as Nice secured a 3-1 home win over Auxerre on Saturday.

Jeremie Boga gave Nice an early lead in the 3rd minute, but Lassine Sinayoko equalised for Auxerre midway through the first half.

An own goal by Clement Akpa restored Nice’s advantage before visiting goalkeeper Leon Donovan was sent off in first-half stoppage time, forcing Auxerre to reshuffle.

With the man advantage, Nice pushed forward and sealed the win in the 76th minute when Moffi, introduced as a substitute, headed in Tom Louchet’s cross.

The goal was confirmed after a brief VAR check, handing Nice their first victory of the campaign.

Moffi, who endured an injury-hit 2024/25 season with just five league appearances, is back to full fitness and has been named in Eric Chelle’s provisional squad for Nigeria’s upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
