The city of Lagos will come alive with Light Up Lagos, a grand celebration honouring the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on his 83rd birthday. The event will take place on Saturday, 22nd February 2025, at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

Pastor Johnson Funsho Odesola, Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Continent 3 and the Middle East, announced this at a press conference held at the Banquet Hall, TBS, Lagos, yesterday.

According to Odesola, “This landmark event aims to uplift lives, inspire faith, and foster community development. This is more than just a birthday tribute; this citywide initiative seeks to ignite social and spiritual transformation through a series of impactful programmes designed to uplift lives and advance the Kingdom of God.”

He disclosed that the event will address pressing societal issues through various outreach programmes. The Anti-Drug Abuse and Anti-Cultism Initiative will educate young people on the dangers of substance abuse, while Secondary School Intervention Programmes will equip students with leadership and career guidance.

Outreach efforts will also extend to correctional centres, offering legal aid and paying fines to help decongest prisons.

“Additionally, the programme will empower over 350,000 youths with digital skills and support small businesses with SME development initiatives.

“Free medical outreach will provide healthcare to over 5,000 Lagosians, ensuring access to vital treatments.

“A day of spiritual revival, the event unfolds in three powerful sessions. The morning kicks off with a Prayer Conference at 8:00 AM, followed by a Feast of Worship in the afternoon, featuring gospel music and community support initiatives.

“The grand finale, the Lagos Light Up Crusade, begins at 4:00 PM, promising a night of miracles, healing, and divine encounters.”

He revealed that renowned ministers and worship leaders, including Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Pastor Paul Enenche, Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, and Mercy Chinwo, will lead the gathering.

With strong support from the Lagos State Government, the city is set for an unforgettable experience of faith, transformation, and revival. Organisers encourage residents of Lagos and neighbouring states to participate in this transformative gathering, promising an atmosphere of faith, healing, and renewal.
