Leeds ace Crysencio Summerville on the radar

Once Leeds United failed to join Leicester City and Ipswich Town in going up to the Premier League, it was obvious that the vultures were quickly going to circle for their players.

Daniel Farke has become something of an expert in getting teams promoted, however, not even he could stop the all whites’ Play-Off jinx.

After a period of down time for everyone connected with the club, the German, his back room team and the board will need to assess where the squad are at, and which players they will need to sell because of their failure to make the leap to the Premier League.

Chelsea want Crysencio Summerville

There will be those players that want to leave the club simply because they’re still stuck in the Championship, and one of those is likely to be the division’s Player of the Season, Crysencio Summerville.

Across the 2023/24 campaign he managed to score 21 goals and provide nine assists, per WhoScored, and was a consistent thorn in the side of the opposition.

Crysencio Summerville to Chelsea?

He was, for all intents and purposes, one of Leeds’ most dangerous customers, though he couldn’t bring that excellence to bear at Wembley Stadium and was subbed off against Southampton.

That might well be the last that Leeds fans see of the 22-year-old in their shirt, as Mirror Sport report that both Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing Summerville.

Under normal circumstances a ‘not for sale’ sign would likely be slapped on the player, but owners 49ers Enterprises will arguably be looking at the financial aspects of any deal, and if it works for them, reluctantly, Farke will have to accept any decision that they make.

Any sale would clearly weaken Leeds in attack too, so a studious appraisal of the transfer market will be required if the Elland Road outfit are to start the 2024/25 season in a positive manner.
