Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, one of Africa’s most influential couturiers, is marking a major milestone—20 years of shaping Nigerian and global fashion. The designer will unveil her Spring/Summer 2026 line, The Anniversary Collection, at a grand showcase in Lagos on November 16, celebrating two decades of couture brilliance, cultural expression, and creative evolution.
From her debut in 2005 to global recognition in Vogue and retail placement in Milan’s Spiga 2 Concept Store, Da Silva Ajayi has built a brand defined by timeless elegance.
Since launching her label, she has become internationally renowned for her blend of 1940s vintage glamour and bold African influences. Her brand offers couture and ready-to-wear pieces, jewellery, and hair accessories, earning her global features and a lasting place at the forefront of Nigerian fashion.
The anniversary showcase promises a night of spectacle, featuring high-profile guests, celebrity models, and live performances from two surprise musical acts. The production, led by Elizabeth Elohor of Beth Model Management, is designed to deliver a world-class fusion of fashion, music, and art.
As part of her continued commitment to nurturing new talent, Da Silva Ajayi will also relaunch Runway Renaissance, selecting three emerging designers who are pushing the boundaries of sustainability and craftsmanship across the continent.
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “Fashion has never been just fabric and thread for me. Clothes hold memories, the scent of celebrations, and the pulse of our ambitions. They are silent witnesses to who we are and who we’re becoming.”
The Anniversary Collection stays true to LDA’s signature aesthetic—grand silhouettes, sculptural sleeves, and intricate detailing. The pieces blend adire with modern textures such as Chantilly lace, presented in a rich palette of emerald green, gold, and sunlit yellow, symbolising growth, triumph, and joy.
The celebration is supported by major partners including the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Bank of Industry, Standard Chartered Bank, Heineken, and Privé Events—brands aligned with LDA’s vision of craft, culture, and excellence.
Speaking on the collaboration, Joan Odafe-Ejumedia, Marketing Manager, Reserve Scotch (Diageo South, West & Central Africa), noted, “Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blend of rare craft and mastery. This 20th Anniversary celebration is the perfect convergence of two artisans committed to timeless legacy. We are honoured to partner with Lanre Da Silva Ajayi—an enduring visionary.”
As she celebrates two decades of redefining African couture, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi remains not only a designer, but a storyteller—shaping how Africa expresses beauty, confidence, and identity through fashion.
