Lamido Adamawa, BDMCS partner to create 10,000 jobs in agricultural value chain


The Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, has allocated 2,000 hectares of land in his domain to Business Development Managers consultancy services (BDMCs), for the construction of a modern agricultural Hub which will create jobs for 10,000 youths across the state.

Blueprint reports that the initiative will transform farming practices in the state and host comprehensive agricultural platform  covering every aspect of farming activities  ranging from cultivation, harvesting, processing packaging and export.

Speaking at a meeting with the top executives of BDMCs in Yola , the royal father , represented by the secretary of the Emirate council, Umar Yahaya, reiterated the commitments of the Emirate council to always  partner with BDMCs, to bring development to the state and enhance food security.

He commended BDMCs for choosing the state and his domain  for this project, assuring them of necessary supports to enable them succeed noting that his door is always open for individuals, groups and organizations  willing to partner with the Emirate to fast track development.

speaking earlier, the chairman Board of Directors BDMCs- Nigeria, Abubakar Umar Al-Umar commended,  the Adamawa Emirate council  for its partnership and allocation of land  for the project.

He lauded the Lamido for queuing into the project which will  boost agricultural production in the state, ensure food security and support livestock and fisheries operations  such as Goat farming, poultry, milk production, Fish farming, Cow rearing ,fattening, animal husbandry among other farming activities. 

Shedding more light on the project, the Vice chairman of BDMCs, Chief Peter Alex Olayinka, said the initiative  will be executed nationwide with Adamawa serving as a pilot project after which it will be replicated in Osun and Delta states.

He said the project funded by American partners with an estimated investment of $80 million will create direct and indirect jobs for over 10,000 youths.
