Lagos state environment and special offenses enforcement unit has arrested 12 suspected land grabbers in Ikeja area of the state.
The Spokesman for the task force, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, on Thursday said that the suspects were arrested at NERDC road, following reports from members of the public.
Abdulraheem added that the accused individuals were armed with dangerous weapons and also assaulted one Ashafa of Prestige Hotel in Ikeja.

He said: “The suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that they were obstructing lawful occupants from carrying out their legitimate activities.
“Part of the agency’s mandate is to prevent and completely halt the activities of land grabbers.
“Their activities, if not checked, could lead to disruption of developmental activities and rip Lagos residents of their hard-earned money.
“The agency will not sit back and watch Lagosians get cheated out of their landed property or structure.”
Abdulraheem also added that the suspects were charged to court, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
He warned those involved in land grabbing in the state to desist, as the task force will deal with anyone involved in such an act.
