The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed that its officers, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), successfully rescued three people from two separate road accidents in Lagos.
Both incidents were attributed to excessive speed and wet road conditions caused by heavy rainfall.
Director of Public Affairs LASTMA, Taofiq Adebayo, in a statement, Wednesday, stated that in the first accident, a single vehicle crash occurred on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road in Victoria Island. A Ford Sedan driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, lost control of the car due to high speed on the slick road. The driver hit the steering wheel, leaving him unconscious
“LASTMA and LASAMBUS quickly responded to the scene, resuscitating the victim on-site before taking him to a nearby hospital for urgent care. Officers from the Bar Beach Divisional Police Command also helped secure the scene”
“In a separate incident at Volks, a Coaster bus collided with a minivan. According to investigations, the Coaster bus was speeding on the wet highway when it lost control and crashed into the minivan,” he said.
