As the vibrant November winds whisper through the bustling metropolis of Lagos, anticipation builds towards the crescendo that is the 35th edition of the Kingdom Life World Conference (KLWC). This grand annual convocation, the flagship event of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), promises an eight-day odyssey of spiritual enrichment, marketplace empowerment, and communal celebration, from November 23 to 30, 2025.
More than just a conference, KLWC is a homecoming, a spiritual “festive season,” as eloquently described by Reverend Ugochukwu Ezeagwula, Chairman of the 2025 Planning Committee. “It’s a conference that brings together over 200 chapters, or branches, from around the world,” he says with a radiant smile, reflecting the profound sense of unity and fellowship that permeates the event. “Beyond our internal community, we also invite people from across the city and beyond.”
Reverend Ugochukwu, a product of the very fertile ground that KLWC has cultivated for generations, embodies the transgenerational impact of this transformative event. “The interesting thing is that I grew up attending Kingdom Life,” he confides, his voice tinged with a palpable humility. “So, it’s very humbling that today I am the chairman of the planning committee. This reminds me of my early school days. I attended Command Ikeja, and as TREMITES, we always looked forward to Kingdom Life because it was our festive season. Every day after school, we would walk down here. It’s a conference that has endured and impacted many generations.”
TREM, in its essence, is a beacon of transgenerational influence, a testament to the enduring power of faith passed down through generations. KLWC serves as a crucible, forging connections between the wisdom of elders and the fervent zeal of the youth, creating a vibrant tapestry of shared experiences and divine purpose.
Each year, KLWC hosts a pantheon of esteemed speakers, spiritual luminaries who impart profound wisdom and inspire countless souls. This year is no exception. The conference will be graced by the presence of the revered Presiding Bishop of TREM, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, and the esteemed Bishop Peace Okonkwo, whose leadership and spiritual guidance have shaped the lives of many. Joining them are a constellation of other influential voices, including Dr. Mensa Otabil of ICGC, Accra, Ghana; Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo; Bishop Tudor Bismark from Zimbabwe; Bishop Wale Ajayi of the Church of God Mission; and Pastor Flourish Peters from Logic Church.
“We have had amazing speakers speak to us in the past, and it has been very impactful,” Reverend Ugochukwu affirms, his voice resonating with conviction. “We call it a life-changing conference. Countless testimonies have come out of the conference.”
KLWC is more than just a series of sermons and prayers; it is a meticulously orchestrated symphony of events designed to cater to diverse needs and aspirations. “One of the things I tell people about KLWC is that there is something in it for everybody. Every generation, every demographic – there’s something for everyone,” Reverend Ugochukwu emphasises.
The Big League Summit, conceived from the vision of Bishop Mike Okonkwo, is a pivotal component of KLWC, a catalyst for raising “apostles in the marketplace.” As Reverend Ugochukwu explains, “As the name implies, we are trying to raise apostles in the marketplace – people who are going to play in the Big League. Of course, the more righteous people who are economically self-sustaining, the more society is impacted. Money in the hands of a godly person will do much more than money in the hands of someone who is not godly.” This summit, running from Monday to Wednesday mornings, is a breeding ground for ethical leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and the integration of faith into the professional sphere.
On Friday evening, the atmosphere will be charged with divine energy as the Zamar Concert unfolds – an all-night spectacle of worship and praise. “The Zamar Concert has been a major feature of the Kingdom Life World Conference for years,” Reverend Ugochukwu shares. “It’s going to be an atmosphere of worship and praise. We have leading artists who will perform. All the major gospel acts in Nigeria have graced the stage of the Zamar Concert before and are coming this year, too. We’re talking about Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Tim Godfrey, Mercy Chinwo, and others.” This concert is not merely entertainment; it is a transcendent experience, a collective outpouring of devotion that creates an unparalleled atmosphere of spiritual connection. “What sets Zamar apart from other concerts is that it’s a period of unbridled worship,” Reverend Ugochukwu adds with fervent conviction.
Recognising the inherent connection between faith and commerce, KLWC introduces the Gbagada Shopping Festival, a vibrant marketplace designed to foster economic exchange within the community. “When you have close to 20,000 people coming together, whether it’s for worship or anything else, it’s also an avenue for commerce,” Reverend Ugochukwu explains. “There will be an exchange of value beyond the worship, beyond the word. People are going to eat; someone wants to buy some consumables. We are creating an ecosystem where value stays.”
This festival, coinciding with the peak sales period of Black Friday, promises unbeatable deals and a stimulating environment for both vendors and shoppers. “It’s the first of its kind in Gbagada,” Reverend Ugochukwu proudly proclaims. “A lot of people who have seen it have said, ‘This is a novel idea. This is beautiful. How come none of us thought about this?’”
Not to be overlooked is the remarkable children’s mass choir, a vibrant testament to TREM’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of worshippers. With over 1,200 children participating, this choir is the largest in Nigeria, if not Africa. “We have the largest children’s mass choir in Nigeria, and if not Africa, a mass choir of over 1,200 children. This season gets the children excited. They are already rehearsing, coming in almost every weekend. On the last day of the conference, it’s a showcase for them. It’s beautiful, it’s colourful, it’s wonderful. As I said, there is something in it for everybody. Kingdom Life is a festival in all respects.”
The theme for KLWC 2025 is Uncommon, a powerful declaration rooted in the scriptural foundation of 1 Peter 2:9: “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar nation.” This theme serves as a potent reminder that believers are set apart, imbued with unique gifts, and destined for extraordinary achievements. “It’s reinforcing the fact that you are not like every other person,” Reverend Ugochukwu expounds. “You have a seal, an anointing, the grace upon your life, and you do uncommon things. It takes an uncommon person to achieve uncommon things. It takes an uncommon atmosphere for uncommon miracles to happen.”
The impact of KLWC extends far beyond the confines of the conference grounds. It is a catalyst for lasting transformation, a seedbed for personal growth, and a wellspring of divine inspiration. When asked if the objective of the conference has been actualised over the years, Reverend Ugochukwu responds with unwavering conviction: “Beyond doubt, the objective of the conference has not just been actualised but it has been surpassed. At the end of the day, the objective of a conference is to transform lives, and lives have been transformed.”
He cites his own life as a living testament to the conference’s transformative power, as well as the countless testimonies that pour in year after year. From career breakthroughs to miraculous healings, the stories of lives touched by KLWC are a testament to the power of faith, community, and divine intervention.
Organising an event of this magnitude requires meticulous planning and unwavering dedication. Reverend Ugochukwu assures that every effort is being made to ensure a seamless and secure experience for all participants. Security is a top priority, with a multi-layered approach that includes intelligence gathering, enhanced lighting, a comprehensive camera system, and collaboration with government agencies. Traffic management is also a key focus, with efforts to expand parking spaces and engage traffic control authorities.
As the countdown to KLWC 2025 continues, Reverend Ugochukwu extends a heartfelt invitation to all who seek spiritual enrichment, marketplace empowerment, and a profound sense of community. “If I’m not at Kingdom Life 2025, the Gbagada Festival 2025, or the Big League 2025, what am I missing?” he asks rhetorically. “Where have you been? If you are in Lagos in 2025, you need to be at the Kingdom Life World Conference, where you will have an opportunity to be a part of the Big League Summit, the Zamar Concert, and the Gbagada Festival. Look at how feature-packed this week is. These eight days are fully feature-packed. You can’t come here and have a dull moment. And that’s not to mention the great apostolic impartation that’s going to happen during that conference.”
Kingdom Life World Conference 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience, a convergence of divine purpose and human potential, a testament to the enduring power of faith to transform lives and shape destinies. It is a call to embrace the “Uncommon” within, to step into a realm of limitless possibilities, and to experience the extraordinary grace that awaits.
