A group of kidnappers operating around Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State reportedly abandoned their ransom and weapons after their getaway vehicle was involved in a fatal accident.
The incident occurred on Monday morning at Angwan Mayo, along the Kokona axis, when the suspects’ Peugeot 406, loaded with firearms, crashed shortly after they had collected ransom money from their victims.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the development, with security analyst Zagazolo Makama disclosing that the gang members fled the scene, leaving behind the cash and sophisticated weapons in the wrecked vehicle.

According to reports, troops of the Nigerian Army were swiftly deployed to the location. The security operatives secured the accident scene and recovered the abandoned money and arms.
Meanwhile, security forces have intensified the manhunt for the fleeing suspects, assuring residents of continued surveillance and proactive measures to curb criminal activities in Kokona and other parts of Nasarawa State.
