LAGOS – Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has been conferred with the ‘Best Minister 2024 – Transformative Leadership’ award by the management and Board of Editors of New Telegraph Newspapers.
A statement by Tunde Moshood, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications the minister, said that Keyamo was honoured with the award in Lagos.
The event, he said was attended by eminent personalities from various sectors of the nation’s economy.
According to the statement, the award was presented to the minister by the Mr. Bisi Onasanya, the former Managing Director of First Bank Plc.
The organisers said that the minister was given the award in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the transformation of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Apart from Keeyamo, other distinguished politicians, technocrats and dignitaries from different walks of life were recognised.
Speaking at the event, Keyamo expressed his gratitude for the recognition, describing the award as a catalyst for greater performance.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to elevating Nigeria’s aviation industry to a leading hub in Africa, emphasising that his best achievements were yet to come.
He also dedicated the award to his workforce, including agencies’ Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), directors, Special Advisers, and Assistants.
Keyamo acknowledged their unwavering support in implementing policies and reforms aimed at repositioning the sector for sustainable growth.
Earlier, Ayo Aminu, the Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspapers, highlighted the publication’s longstanding tradition of promoting excellence.
He noted that New Telegraph itself had received several notable awards, including the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME), underscoring the importance of celebrating individuals who drive progress and innovation.
The event was graced by an array of high-profile guests from the political, corporate, and social spheres.
Among those in attendance were Chief Olabode George, a stalwart of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP); Mele Kyari, the Managing Director of NNPC; Sen. Orji Kalu and and several former governors and bank executives.
