Coalition of Nasarawa Advocates for Democracy and Development, Thursday, has dismissed claims by an online news medium on the Keffi -Nasarawa-Toto federal road, claiming that Senator Aliyu Wadada would lead Nasarawa delegation for inspection.
The medium reported that Senator Wadada of Nasarawa West would lead a high-profile team including governor Abdullahi Sule and the Minister of Works, David Umahi, on the inspection of the long-awaited Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto–Abaji road project scheduled to hold on Friday, October 10, 2025.
However, in a swift response, the group through its convener, Ibrahim Ablaba, in Lafia, dismissed the report as false, insisting that the inspection of the federal road which suffered years of deplorable condition, would be led by the state governor, Abdullahi Sule in company of stakeholders from the zone including Senator Wadada.
Comrade Ablaba while dismissing the claim as false, ignorant and insulting to the prestige and sensibility of the governor’s office, disclosed that Wadada has no locus standi to lead the state on the tour at the instance of the governor.
He called on citizens and the media to refrain from spreading falsehood for political reasons, adding that the organisation is focused on ensuring citizen-driven democracy that benefits all devoid of political persuasions.
He commended President Bola Tinubu and governor Sule for rekindling the hope of the communities, commuters and Nigerians, acknowledging that the rehabilitation of the road would build citizens’ hope in the Renewed Hope administration.
There has been a controversy surrounding the awards of several contracts of the deplorable road with motorists going through nightmarish experiences for decades.
