Kebbi State Police Command operatives neutralised three suspected bandits and recovered an unregistered red Honda motorcycle, known as “Boko Haram,” during an operation in Kamba, Dandi Local Government Area, on Friday.
According to CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer, the incident followed credible intelligence received around 12:45 pm about a gang of suspected Lakurawa bandits invading Gorun Yamma village.
SP Bello Lawal, the Divisional Police Officer in Kamba, swiftly mobilized a joint team of police and vigilantes to the scene.The team engaged the bandits in a prolonged gun battle, neutralizing three suspects, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
The recovered motorcycle was seized as evidence.Commissioner of Police Bello Sani praised the team’s bravery and quick response, which disrupted the bandits’ plans.
He urged sustained collaboration with vigilantes and other security agencies to combat the Lakurawa group and other crimes in the state.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi for further investigation.
CP Sani reaffirmed the command’s dedication to protecting lives and property and called on residents to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
