The Kebbi State Police Command has apprehended two suspects in connection with the theft of power tiller machines valued at more than N3.1 million in Birnin Kebbi.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday. He said the arrest followed a complaint lodged by Architect Usman Wasagu of the Kawara area, who reported that his warehouse behind Sajo School of Nursing Science was burgled on September 9, 2025, leading to the theft of seven machines.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives attached to Birnin Kebbi Divisional Headquarters arrested 52-year-old Hamidu Bagudu of Tudun Wada and 35-year-old Abdullahi Aliyu of Nasarawa area.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspects confessed to receiving the stolen machines from one Usman Inyamu of Tudun Wada, who is currently at large. Investigations revealed that the stolen items were sold for N1.84 million, while officers recovered N250,000 as part of the proceeds.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the swift action of the operatives and directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
He further urged members of the public to continue providing timely and reliable information to aid security agencies in maintaining law and order across Kebbi State.
