Kebbi PDP Vows To Sanction Members Sabotaging Scheduled Congresses

The Kebbi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to sanction any member found attempting to undermine its forthcoming congresses slated for September 20 and 27.

The party’s Legal Adviser in the state, Mr. Nura Bello, made this known on Friday in Birnin Kebbi while briefing journalists on the party’s preparedness ahead of the exercises.

“Our party at the national level has already constituted a Disciplinary Committee to deal with any member found engaging in anti-party activities or sabotaging the congresses,” Bello declared.

He also addressed concerns regarding a court order that surfaced on social media on September 18, allegedly directing the suspension of PDP congresses in Kano and Kebbi States.

According to him, the party immediately engaged legal representation to challenge the order in court, which was subsequently vacated.

Bello further lamented that the plaintiffs behind the suit were members of the PDP in Kebbi, stressing that such jurisdictional issues ought to have been pursued at the state High Court rather than escalating them unnecessarily.
