A Katsina philanthropist, Malam Abdul Aziz Maitura, has commenced the yearly distribution of free Ramadan package to 1,000 less privileged people in the state.
Maitura who commenced the free food distribution Monday said it became imperative to assist the less privileged in the society, most especially, during Ramadan period.
He said with the present situation in Nigeria and the whole world, wealthy individuals need to express gratitude to Almighty Allah by providing reasonable assistance to the masses.
He said by doing so, more rewards and blessings will come directly from God.
He stated further that ease Ramadan struggles, 500 people were selected for daily breakfast package for the whole Ramadan period as well as another set of 500 less privileged will be given free food for daily Ramadan sahur for 30 days.
Maitura, a business man and politician, stated that providing assistance at the time of need will equally improve good relationship and security in the community.
He added that on daily basis, people used to offer special prayers of peace to Katsina state and the country at large after breaking the fast.
He said they are offering the special prayers with happiness and total submission to Almighty Allah with high hope their prayers will be accepted.
Maitura also called on the government and politicians to make good use of the Ramadan period by providing all forms of assistance to individuals and sponsor special prayers for the total restoration of peace in the state.
He said Almighty Allah accepts little sacrifices one can make towards assisting his servant.
