The Katsina Local Government election has commenced on Saturday across the state.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari voted at his polling unit in Daura.
Buhari voted at Polling Unit 003, Sarkin Yarn Ward A.
He voted alongside the Commissioner for Special Duties, Adnan Na-Habu Daura, around 11:09 am.
Governor Dikko Radda, his wife, Zulaihat and his Deputy, Faruk Jobe, have also voted in the election.
Former governors of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema and Aminu Masari, as well as serving senators and ministers in the state, also cast their votes in their respective polling units.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote at his Kofar Katika Polling Unit in Radda Ward of Charanchi LGA, Radda declared that the All Progressives Congress, APC, will win the election.
Radda assured that votes would count.
“I believe that at the end of the exercise, with the kind of projects executed since we came on board, we believe so much in APC and APC will come out victorious. People should expect their votes to be counted,” Radda said.
