Nigerian-American fighter, Kamaru Usman is ranked joint second on the list of fighters with the longest win streaks in UFC history.
Kamaru Usman’s 15 straight victories place him alongside lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, both sitting just one win behind Anderson Silva’s all-time record of 16.
Between 2015 and 2022, Usman carved out one of the most dominant runs the sport has ever seen. His streak began with a victory over Leon Edwards and stretched through a string of masterful performances that included five successful title defences.
Usman’s 15th win came against Colby Covington before Edwards eventually brought the run to an end in a dramatic rematch.
At the top of the list stands Anderson Silva, whose 16-fight streak from 2006 to 2012 remains untouched. Silva’s reign began with a quick knockout of Chris Leben and included memorable victories over Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen and Stephan Bonnar.
Makhachev, meanwhile, continues to chase that record. Since his lone defeat in 2016, the Russian has become one of the UFC’s most dominant lightweights. His 15th consecutive win came in January 2025, and he now looks poised to surpass Silva’s historic mark.
Other names on the list include Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones, who each recorded 13 consecutive victories. Khabib Nurmagomedov also joins that elite group, retiring unbeaten in 2020 after a perfect 13-0 UFC record.
Usman, who endured a brief dip in form with three straight losses, returned to winning ways in June when he outpointed Joaquin Buckley in the main event of UFC on ESPN 69. The victory has reignited his hunger and restored his belief that he can still compete at the top level.
With Jack Della Maddalena set to defend his welterweight belt against Makhachev on November 15 at Madison Square Garden, Usman, 38, has made it clear he wants the next shot at whoever emerges victorious.
Speaking on his Pound 4 Pound podcast alongside Henry Cejudo, the former champion said, “I’ve done my job to remind everyone that I can still compete at the highest level. People wanted to know if I was still that guy, and I showed them I can hang with these contenders. I’m not worried.”
