Kaduna Judiciary Workers Suspend Strike 


The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Chapter, has suspended its ongoing strike following a high-level meeting with the state government and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The meeting, held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Chambers of the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Sir James Kanyip, brought together representatives of JUSUN, as well as officials of the NBA Kaduna and Barnawa branches.

A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting — jointly signed by Auwal Sarki, Chairman of JUSUN Kaduna Branch; Sir James Kanyip, Attorney-General of Kaduna State; Baba Lawal Aliyu, Chairman of NBA Kaduna Branch; and E. E. Ekhasemomhe, Vice Chairman of NBA Barnawa Branch — confirmed the temporary suspension of the strike.

“After extensive deliberations on the ongoing industrial action by JUSUN Kaduna State, all parties agreed on the need for continued dialogue and amicable resolution of the outstanding issues,” the communiqué stated.

The union said it had “agreed to suspend its ongoing strike action pending the outcome of a follow-up meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025,” which will also involve officials of the JUSUN National Executive Council (NEC).

All stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining industrial harmony and ensuring the smooth administration of justice in Kaduna State.

The meeting was described as cordial, with participants expressing optimism that the forthcoming engagement with JUSUN’s national leadership would pave the way for a lasting resolution of the issues in contention.
