Kaduna Govt Gives El-Rufai 7 Days to Prove N1bn Bandits Payment Claim

The Kaduna State Government has thrown down the gauntlet to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, demanding he produce “a single shred of credible evidence” including bank statements, internal memos, or official security documents to back his latest claim that the current administration diverted funds meant for arms procurement.

In a strongly worded statement issued Sunday night, the government described El-Rufai’s allegations as recycled, baseless, and part of a deliberate campaign of “bitterness, fear-mongering, and orchestrated falsehoods.

”The statement pointed out that identical accusations made by the former governor in September 2025 collapsed for lack of proof and were never substantiated before any court or investigative panel.

“Once again, we challenge Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to present even one bank record, one memo, one security document, or any tangible evidence to support these grave allegations.

Failure to do so will only confirm that this is yet another episode of political mischief,” the government said.

While reaffirming its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible management of security resources, the administration vowed not to be distracted from delivering good governance to the people of Kaduna State.

As at the time of this report, neither El-Rufai nor his media team had responded to the challenge.
