The Beta Nigeria Campaign, a national initiative focused on tackling teacher shortages, reducing out-of-school children, and improving education funding, has concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop for media influencers in Kaduna state.
The two-day training, brought together journalists, social media influencers, and education advocates.
The aim was to equip participants with the skills to leverage media for advocacy, amplify key education issues, and hold policymakers accountable.
Experts from the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) and Beta Nigeria led discussions on education policy, systemic challenges, and the media’s role in driving meaningful reforms.
Sessions also covered storytelling for impact, media engagement strategies, and education accountability.
Participants engaged in hands-on content creation, producing advocacy videos that highlighted the need for increased investment in teacher recruitment, training, and improved education policies.
A major highlight was the presentation of these videos, which aligned with national and international education advocacy efforts.
The workshop underscored the importance of media in shaping public discourse and called on journalists and influencers to use their platforms to push for urgent reforms.
Beta Nigeria however, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality education for all Nigerian children and urged all stakeholders to join the movement for meaningful change.
