A source present at the meeting explained that Oba Ladoja welcomed Igboho and his followers warmly, committing himself to intervening in his current situation.

The source indicated that Olubadan promised to get ways of ending Igboho’s age-long issues, such as being declared wanted by the Federal Government and having his bank accounts frozen.

It will be remembered that the government of the late President Muhammadu Buhari placed Igboho on a wanted list in 2021 for allegedly stockpiling weapons and ammunition, for which he protested.

The raid left two of his aides dead while 13 others were arrested.

The incident marked a turning point in his confrontation with the Federal Government, fuelling widespread condemnation and further elevating him as a key figure in the Yoruba self-determination struggle.
