Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago of Niger State has approved the immediate dissolution of all commissioners and other senior political appointees in the state’s executive council.
According to the announcement, only the Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Secretary to the State Government and And the principal officers in Government house office were exempted and will continue in their positions.
The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts to advance Bago’s “New Niger Agenda,” a comprehensive vision for infrastructure development, green economy initiatives, agricultural transformation, education, health, and urban renewal in the north-central state.
According to an official statement from the Governor’s Office, the dissolution takes effect immediately and is part of a broader strategy to inject fresh energy into governance and ensure alignment with the administration’s priorities.
