Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham has ruled out a move to Manchester United despite enduring a tough start to life in Germany.
United had been exploring a potential loan deal for the 20-year-old, who joined Dortmund from Sunderland in the summer. But sources close to the player say he has no interest in leaving for Old Trafford, especially since the Premier League side are not in the Champions League.
Bellingham, the younger brother of Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham, has struggled to secure regular minutes under Niko Kovac. He has started just two Bundesliga games this season and was left on the bench during last weekend’s 3-0 victory over Köln, only making a brief appearance late on.
Despite his frustrations, Bellingham reportedly remains determined to fight for his place at Dortmund rather than take a step down in European competition. If he does leave the club, he would prefer a side that can offer him top-level football and consistent starts.
The England youth international signed for Dortmund in a £27 million deal in July, a move that was expected to accelerate his rise among Europe’s next generation of talents. However, he has yet to score in 12 appearances, and tensions behind the scenes are said to be growing.
Reports in Germany claim Bellingham’s father, Mark Bellingham, clashed with Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl after Jobe was substituted at half-time during his debut. The former non-league striker was reportedly angered by the decision and confronted club officials after the match.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are expected to turn their attention to Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher, who has struggled for game time under Diego Simeone. Gallagher is eager for regular starts to boost his chances of making England’s World Cup squad.
