LEADERSHIP had reported how the committee headed by Silas Dachor, in the course of its investigation, discovered that the TSC officials ignored Governor Sule’s directive to recruit 1,000 teachers by illegally inflating the figure to 3,000.

It revealed how unsuspecting applicants were made to pay a huge amount of money in exchange for appointment letters.

The committee disclosed that officials of the State’s Teachers Service Commission charged a humongous amount of money per applicant during the exercise.

It noted that an Access Bank account number was provided for the applicants to pay the money into as appreciation to facilitate the issuance of appointment letters.

Speaking on the development in Lafia, Governor Sule said the state government has decided to relieve the indicted officials of their duties.

He also revealed plans to constitute an independent body that will conduct fresh selection interviews for 3,000 previously recruited teachers, with the aim of choosing 1,500 competent candidates.

He promised that the affected applicants would be compensated by the state government accordingly.

He also said a new leadership of the Teachers Service Commission would be constituted in due to oversee the affairs of the organisation soon.
