João Pedro Fires Chelsea Past Tottenham In Fierce London Derby

Chelsea snatched a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on November 1, with João Pedro’s composed finish settling a tense Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Brazilian forward broke the deadlock in the 34th minute after Moisés Caicedo carved open the Spurs defence with a clever low pass. Pedro arrived in space and guided the ball past Guglielmo Vicario to give the visitors a deserved lead.

Tottenham never truly recovered from a shaky start. Young midfielder Lucas Bergvall lasted only five minutes before suffering a head injury, forcing manager Thomas Frank to turn to Xavi Simons far earlier than planned. The early disruption seemed to unsettle the Spurs, who struggled to find rhythm for much of the opening half.

Chelsea took advantage, dictating play with energy and precision. Alejandro Garnacho forced a save from Vicario midway through the first half, and Pedro almost added a second just before the break, only for the Spurs keeper to tip his curling effort over the bar.

Tottenham pushed harder after the restart, but their attacks lacked bite. Rodrigo Bentancur’s yellow card for halting a Chelsea counter satisfied their frustration. Enzo Fernández then went close to doubling the advantage with a glancing header, while Reece James and Pedro continued to trouble the hosts’ defence.

Vicario made several key saves to keep Spurs in contention, including a strong stop to deny Neto in the 75th minute. But despite Tottenham’s late surge, Chelsea held their shape and protected their lead with composure.

The win lifts Chelsea level on 17 points with Tottenham after ten games, keeping both sides in the hunt for a Champions League spot. Arsenal stay top of the table.
