The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended nine suspected cattle rustlers during coordinated operations in Auyo Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson for the command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the development in a statement issued to Daily Post on Sunday.
He noted that the arrests were part of the command’s ongoing efforts to curb cattle rustling and other forms of criminal activity across the state.

According to him, “On 30/09/2025, operatives of the Hadejia ‘A’ and Auyo Divisions, acting on credible intelligence, arrested nine (9) suspected cattle rustlers at two different locations.”
Shiisu stated that the arrests took place at two different sites — one in an uncompleted building at Kantin Waje Quarters, Hadejia LGA, and the other at Kogin Dole, close to Wailari Village in Auyo LGA.
Those arrested were identified as Buhari Musa, Muhammad Abubakar, Abba Ibrahim, Shuaibu Musa, Mohd Abubakar, and Sule Isa, all from Malam Madori LGA, as well as Isma’il Abdullahi, Abdullahi Suleman, and Salisu Usman, all from Zareku Village, Miga LGA.
He added that the operatives recovered several items from the suspects, including a dark green tinted-glass Golf wagon with registration number UBJ 835 XX, four cows, two goats, and one sheep.
SP Shiisu further stated that all the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, commended the officers involved in the operation for their swift and effective response, reaffirming the command’s commitment to eradicating cattle rustling and related crimes in the state.
He also urged residents, particularly livestock owners, to continue sharing credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in combating criminal activities more efficiently.
