I’ve no regret appointing Sami as new Zuru emir – Idris

The Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris, has said he is the happiest person to have appointed Sanusi Mikail Sami, Gomo the third, as the new emir of Zuru, because of his popularity and acceptability.

Comrade Idris made the remark in Birnin Kebbi when the emir led a large delegation of people from the emirate on a thank you visit to the governor, Sunday.

“Maybe, the new emir knows me even before I became governor, but personally, I don’t know him.

“When the stool became vacant, I ordered a thorough investigation on who is the popular choice and most acceptable candidate among Zuru people to give them the opportunity to name whom they want.

“Unanimously, they mentioned Sanusi, and I gave the approval for his appointment instantaneously through due process.
