Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has credited Alexis Sánchez with playing a crucial role in his development since the Chilean forward joined Sevilla in the summer.

Sánchez, 36, arrived as a free transfer after leaving Udinese and has quickly reasserted his presence in La Liga.

With a résumé featuring Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester United and Inter Milan, he remains the most decorated player in the Sevilla dressing room, contributing two goals and an assist in eight appearances this season.

Adams, who has struck up a close bond with the veteran, says the former Arsenal star’s experience has been invaluable.

“We spend 6–7 hours together daily”

Speaking ahead of Sevilla’s derby clash with Real Betis at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Adams highlighted Sánchez’s off-the-pitch impact.

“For us, it’s a pleasure to have a player of his calibre and to spend every day with him in the same locker room, more than 6–7 hours every day. We sit side by side, we talk a lot, we share experiences,” Adams told Sporty TV.

“He has seen the game, all of it. I’ve learnt a lot. He’s a veteran, and for me, it’s positive, even for the other players.”
