Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has said it is his turn to become Oyo State Governor in 2027.
Daily Trust reports that Adelabu had contested for governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC) and lost to Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2019 general elections.
Also, in the build-up to the 2023 election, he resigned from the APC and joined the Accord Party where he ran again and lost to Makinde.

Adelabu, however, returned to the ruling APC in 2023 after he was appointed minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A viral video showed Adelabu at a stakeholders’ engagement with APC leaders, declaring his intention to join the 2027 governorship race.
The Minister, who spoke in Yoruba, adopted his principal, Tinubu’s slogan of “E mi Lokan” (it’s my turn), saying he paid his dues in the state’s politics.
“I have been on this journey for a while now. I believe it’s not the day you start politics that you begin to reap the benefits.
“I have now paid my dues. I contested against Seyi (Makinde) in 2019. In 2023, I also contested against Seyi, then as the sitting governor. But this 2027, God has shown that it’s my turn.
“It’s Adelabu time. Anything that belongs to Adelabu belongs to us all,” he said.
Adelabu, however, urged party leaders and supporters to join him in the struggle to retake the state from the PDP and restore APC’s leadership.
“I’m ready to take the lead to embark on a house to house campaign, day and night to beg our people in order to work together and reap the benefits,” he added.
