The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), in collaboration with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), NGX Regulation Limited (NGX RegCo) and EY, presents a two-day technical training programme designed to support high-quality disclosures by helping preparers understand the requirements of the ISSB Standards.
The training is scheduled to be held at the Lagos Zonal Office of the SEC from September 10-11, 2025.
The content will be learner-centric with a format that supplements presentation materials to enhance learners’ ability to recall important information and apply what they have learned within the context of their company.
The in-person, two-day event will consist of training, Q&A, audience engagement exercises and networking breaks with breakfast and lunch provided. The training will be led by International Sustainability Standards Board members Dr. Ndidi Nnoli Edozien and Dr. Richard Barker along with Neil Stewart, Director of Corporate Outreach, IFRS Foundation.
Participants will include representatives from listed and private companies, Public Interest Entities (PIEs), accounting professionals and other stakeholders involved in the application of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 (ISSB Standards).
To participate, individuals from companies preparing to apply ISSB Standards should have sustainability reporting responsibilities, including Chief Sustainability, Risk and Investor Relations Officer, or individuals nominated by them such as sustainability reporting manager, ESG controller or external reporting manager (registration will prioritize two representatives per company; additional registrants will be placed on a waiting list).
