Israeli military To Implement Daily Pauses in Gaza To Increase Aid Delivery

The Israeli military has announced on Sunday,  that it will implement daily tactical pauses in military activity in parts of southern Gaza to allow for increased aid delivery to the besieged enclave.

This decision comes as international aid organizations have raised alarms over a deepening humanitarian crisis in the region.

The military specified that these pauses will occur from 0500 GMT to 1600 GMT daily until further notice. The pauses will affect the area along the road leading from the Kerem Shalom Crossing to the Salah al-Din Road, extending northwards.

Despite these pauses, fighting in the city of Rafah will continue unabated. The Israeli military is currently targeting the remaining brigades of the militant Islamist Hamas movement in Rafah, a key area in the ongoing conflict.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached critical levels, with limited access to essential supplies such as food, water, and medical aid. The tactical pauses are intended to facilitate the flow of much-needed aid to civilians trapped in the conflict zone.

The international community has been urging both sides to prioritise the safety and well-being of civilians, highlighting the dire need for humanitarian assistance.

The Israeli military’s announcement is seen as a response to these calls, though the effectiveness of these pauses in alleviating the crisis remains to be seen.
