…..Calls On Nigerians To Pray For The Release Of Remaining Israeli Hostages
MAKURDI: The Government of the State of Israel has declared it’s intention to partner churches in Nigeria, towards the socioeconomic growth of the church as well as the well-being of Nigerians.
The Ambassador of the State of Israel to Nigeria, Michael Freeman disclosed this while speaking at the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Biennial Conference last weekend.
The Ambassador who commended the church in Nigeria for always standing by Israel, supporting the State of Israel and for always praying for its people, noted that although sometimes it was a difficult thing for the church to align with Israel, it was the right thing to do.
Freeman who observed that he believes that with its partnership with the church in Nigeria, it would strengthen the relationship between Israel and Nigeria, adding that he also believes that the partnership would lead to transformation in all sectors of the Nigerian economy.
According to him, “First of all, I will like to say thank you for your support and your prayers and for everything you do for Israel.
“Sometimes it’s not easy to support Israel, sometimes it’s not easy to stand behind us, but it is the right thing to do; it is the correct thing to do and therefore I thank you. I thank you for myself, on behalf of my Prime Minister, the President and for the people of Israel.
“I come here today, not only as the Ambassador of Israel, but also as a believer; a believer to change the world into a better place, a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and a believer in the strengthening of relationship between Israel and Nigeria.
“I encourage all of you to come visit my country, Israel and as I stand here today Nigerian pilgrims are in Israel and when you come visiting you will see what Israel has got to offer. Israel is not only spiritual, it is also earthly and together we will be able to partner churches to bring transformation to Nigeria.”
The Diplomat who further threw more light on some of the things the State of Israel was doing in the country said “As I speak we have two Israeli doctors at the National hospital, carrying out surgeries on Nigerians with other Nigeria doctors; teaching them complex surgeries. So we can work together to improve the lives of Nigerians.
“We can bring Israeli agriculture technology to your churches, to your homes and to your farms and we can grow in areas you never thought you could grow. We can be able to use drip technology to quadruple the amount of produce you are producing. We can use less water in order to make a real difference.
“We can work in education. We can use Israeli knowledge education skills. We can work in areas of innovations; together we can transform Nigeria. And I give you my commitment and that is what I came here to do and I know that PFN is our partner and I know that the people sitting here are our partners and I look forward to working with you.”
On the other hand, he said, “Friends, Israel is also facing difficult days and it will be amiss of me not to mention the 76 Israeli hostages, including a 2 year old baby and a 5 year old child; the sick and elderly that are still being held by Hamas in the terror dungeons of Gaza.
“I ask you to join me in calling for their release and to also pray for their release and to pray for their safe return to their families. And together we will also pray for Jerusalem and the well-being of Israel and Nigeria,” he appealed.
Meanwhile, the Interim National Coordinator of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), prayer outreach, Nigeria, Evangelist Hon Mati Acka, has commended the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Michael Freeman for acknowledging and appreciating the support of the Christian community in Nigeria for the State of Israel and his country’s good gesture in collaborating with the body of Christ in Nigeria, in order to foster unity and progress in the various key areas of advancement.
She also appreciated the Executive Secretary, Christians United for Nigeria prayer outreach, Rev Dr Samson Ozovehe, for his input in the Israeli Ambassador’s diplomatic representation of the State of Israel at the PFN Biennial Conference.
Evangelist Acka called on the entire body of Christ in Nigeria to synergize with CUFI Nigeria, to forge a formidable front in the support of the State of Israel in accordance with scriptural injunction as in Isaiah 62:1.
In conclusion, sharing Ambassador Freeman’s concern over the remaining hostages held by Hamas, Evangelist Acka, called on the Church in Nigeria, for fervent prayers for the intact and immediate release of the 76 hostages held in Hamas camps to be reunited to their loved before Easter.
