Liverpool have agreed a British transfer record fee of £125 million to sign wantaway Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, BBC Sport reports.
The 25-year-old striker is expected to sign a six-year contract, after undergoing a medical, today, being Deadline Day.
In August, Newcastle rejected a £110 million offer from Liverpool for the Swede.
Isak had insisted on the Liverpool deal, threatening not to play for Newcastle anymore as “promises” had been broken.
The Magpies signed Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart last week in apparent preparation for Isak’s departure.
Isak’s deal would be the second time Liverpool break their transfer record this summer, having signed attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayern Leverkusen in a deal worth an initial £100 million, with a further £16 million in add-ons.
