Ineza Care Foundation Strengthens Access to Education for 60 Girls in Ibadan through Empowering Her Initiative

In a heartfelt show of commitment to education and gender equality, the Ineza Care Foundation, in partnership with Voye, a soon-to-launch cross-border payments platform by Cede, has empowered students of Yejide Girls Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan, through its “Empowering Her” initiative.

As part of the outreach held on Friday, November 7, 2025, the Foundation paid WAEC examination fees for 60 female students and provided school bags and mathematical sets to 100 students, easing the financial and material constraints that often stand between young girls and their education.

Speaking on the initiative, Alex, Program Director for the Her Initiative under Ineza Care Foundation, noted that the project is driven by the belief that access to education is a right, not a privilege.

“At Ineza Care Foundation, we believe that every girl deserves a fair chance to succeed,” Alex said. “This outreach is our way of standing beside young students who continue to strive despite life’s challenges. By supporting their education and providing the tools they need to learn confidently, we hope to spark hope, motivation, and a sense of possibility – because sometimes, a little support is all it takes to change a child’s story.”

The selection of the 60 WAEC beneficiaries followed a school-administered mock examination that identified students showing promise and commitment. The approach, according to the Foundation, reinforces academic excellence while ensuring that support reaches those most in need.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5 (Quality Education and Gender Equality) – two areas that Ineza Care Foundation actively champions through its quarterly community interventions.

Supporting the initiative was Voye, a new product by Cede, designed to simplify cross-border remittances for Africans at home and abroad. Although the platform is yet to launch officially, its team saw an opportunity to begin with purpose.

“While we’re gearing up to introduce Voye to the public, we wanted to start with something that reflects the kind of impact we intend to have,” said Israel Olatinsu, Chief Operating Officer at Cede. “Supporting Ineza Care Foundation’s work with young girls felt like the perfect first step. We believe empowerment begins with access – and education is one of the most powerful forms of access.”

Teachers and students of Yejide Girls Grammar School expressed profound gratitude for the gesture, noting that it lifted a significant burden off families and reignited hope for many girls on the verge of dropping out due to financial hardship. The school principal described the initiative as “a timely intervention that has changed the trajectory for several of our girls.”

Through “Empowering Her,” Ineza Care Foundation continues to advance its mission of building a more inclusive future by ensuring that every child – regardless of background – has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
