INEC warns parties against forgery, compromising electoral integrity

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a warning to political parties to forthwith desist from engaging in futile, criminal, and disruptive activities in the interest of electoral integrity and peace.

In a statement released Friday by the Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the Commission debunked a correspondence allegedly in circulation concerning the resolution of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) Meeting and postponement of the Ekiti state Congress/Governorship Primary.

The correspondence was purportedly signed by the secretary to the Commission.

However, the Commission, in the statement, clarified that the document did not emanate from its office.

The statement read, “The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to a correspondence currently in circulation on various platforms, dated November 10, 2025, concerning the Resolution of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) Meeting and postponement of the Ekiti state Congress/Governorship Primary, purported to have been issued and signed by the Secretary to the Commission.
