The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final figures of registered voters ahead of the November governorship election in Anambra State.
The update was given in a statement on Thursday, after the Commission’s weekly meeting in Abuja.
According to INEC, voter registration was successfully concluded in all 326 Wards of the State between July 8 and 20, 2025.

A total of 168,187 citizens registered as new voters during the exercise.
However, through its Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS), 27,817 cases of double or multiple registrations were detected and removed.
“Consequently, the figure for new registrants now stands at 140,370 while valid applications for transfer into the State is 5,983,” the statement quoted Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee.
“This brings the total number of new voters in Anambra to 146,353,” he added.
Prior to the Continuous Voter Registration, Anambra had 2,656,437 registered voters.
“With the new registrants, the voters’ roll for the State now stands at 2,802,790,” Olumekun said.
The Commission further broke down the distribution of voters by Local Government Area.
“Idemili North with 246,318 (8.79%) has the highest number of voters, followed by Awka South with 216,611 (7.73%) and Ogbaru with 188,016 (6.71%).
“On the other hand, Dunokofia and Anambra West have 83,580 (2.98%) and 71,332 (2.55%) registered voters respectively,” the statement added.
Olumekun assured that Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) would be ready for collection before the polls.
“INEC is committed to ensuring that every validly registered voter in Anambra has access to their PVC before the governorship election,” he stressed.
